How do admissions look at people attending summer school? If you attend their summer school, is that a boost? Does it look good on your transcript that you “did” something over summer??

ill give you my experience. I went to Harvard summer school and I was rejected from there and everybody I met at the program was rejected also. However the kids I met all ended up at amazing schools. I ended up at Stanford while my roomies ended up at BU, UPENN, MIT, Duke, UCLA, and Cooper Union. I think the summer program helped all our apps but did not give any advantage in harvard admissions. I do think these programs are worthwhile though

hey thanks for your input... i sooo want to get into stanford! lol

Expensive ones are not supposed to help a lot in admissions. Governor's schools and the like, however, do help since they are much more selective.

ok... cuz in the past 2 summers, i've done absolutely nothing!!! i hope doing something this summer counts!

for many of the kids i met there, it was also the first summer they did anything and that helped them in the application process becuase they had something to list on their app. i also found the summer program to be a great topic on interviews that really helped me out and showed my commitment to furthering my education

Sweet cause I'm taking orgo chem at washu right now!

I took Neurobiology at the Harvard Summer School Program. But as a low income student would this give admission officials the wrong impression?
