Ya I got confirmation of the completed application today as well.

Now I'm nervous/anxious for their decision.

Now I'm nervous/anxious for their decision.

really? I've nvr been to Ojai/that area

me neither. I've heard lots of things about it though. My physics teacher commented on it when I told her where SSP was (for the recommendation)

@misterwang

I play oboe in my city's youth symphony, am heavily involved with Model UN, like writing... basically my ECs tend to lean more humanities, but I think I showed in my essay that I am extremely passionate about math/sciences and do that more informally, and think that I could really benefit from SSP.

Canadian (eh) so no AMC, but I usually do quite well on UWaterloo contests and narrowly missed qualifying for Canadian Math Olympiad.

4.0 GPA/3.9 cumulative (unweighted), no class rank.

The teachers that recommended me all think very highly of me and have given comments like 'truly exceptional', 'astounding', and so forth. So I guess I'm an average applicant.

^ nice stats =P

oo just wondering, anybody know the difference between "rejected" and "deferred"?..because i still get those two confused...

Deferred implies that they haven't made a decision about your placement in the program yet and want to compare you with other applicants in later rounds. Although no one from the third round will be deferred, as that is the final round. I believe only first rounders got deferred.

O_o
then how does that differ from "waitlisted"?

and just of curiosity, how many sophomores applied? (how many made it? ^_^)

waitlisted means, you didn't make it, but if someone who was accepted declines to go, someone will be selected off the waitlist to go.
rejected means you didn't make it.
deferred was just explained- you will be considered with later applicants.

Selena, this is a question I have too.
Though, I hope that they don't even look at the grade and just look at pure stats - i could probably pass for a junior.

i saw somewhere earlier in this thread 3 out of 40 for sophomores. but i have absolutely no idea what context that is in or whether thats just a guess. i know theres usually around 2 or 3 per campus though.

Trickysocksman, what do you mean by 3 out of 40?
2 or 3 per campus..is anyone from cc who made it a sophomore?

i just read somewhere in this thread that like 3 out of the 40 that applied got in. might be a total guess. might be real. i just remember recalling seeing that somewhere.

The 3/40 is old data, but probably still decently accurate.

bks,
what are your stats? (if i may ask...)

Oh, I see. Thanks!!

Have any sophomores on SSP made it yet?
Selena, I posted my stats (most of them) a couple pages back. :)

checks...
and you're a SOPHOMORE?! =O

i really think you have a great shot in getting in. =D

Thanks, Selena!
Are you a sophomore too?
Good luck :)

wow bks85 I think you have a really good chance of getting in, your stats are much better than mine and I got waitlisted, so I don't think acceptance would be a stretch at all for you
