Yeah have you watched Fear Factor? Eggs with chicks in them are apparently, an Asian delicacy.

Oh just wait till those chickens grow up. I actually remember being in California one time with my less sophisticated Vietnamese cousins. And yeah...decapitating a grown duck...that's not a pretty sight (when they're still alive too...killed alive!). I was about 5 at the time, and I tried to save the rest of the ducks in the box by literally pushing it out on the driveway, opening the box...and then expecting them to fly away or something (but they didn't :( ).

So then my mother assured me that uncle wouldn't kill the ducks. I'm not sure if they carried through with their promises though lol.

Speaking of Ducks, I don't want all of them saved. Cough Anaheim Mighty Ducks Cough. GOOOOOO OILEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERSSSS. 3-1 in da series WOOT WOOT. FINISH EM OFF!!!

Pirates of the Caribbean 2? Sigh...guess you're going to drag me to that too Ahra? XD Johnny Depp lol...

Yikes! My french teacher last year used to tell us about how in Haiti, where he grew up, it was his job to kill a chicken every week, and he went into sooo many details about it and ewwwwwww....

I haven't actually eaten an egg, like a plain egg, like.... ever....

(I'm a vegetarian and I'm lactose intolerant, and my mom is like... a chicken's rights activist lol)

I've heard that The Da Vinci code isn't very good (which is disappointing, because I rather liked the book...) so I'm going to vote for X-menIII.

mmmmm... Pirates II.... looks like it should be pretty good. I went and saw the first one in theatres on opening night and me and a couple of my friends dressed up like pirates and they gave us free tickets. grins

hehe, i've taken a little vacation-'ve been sick :)

going back to books-on Wed we had our final on Streetcar (;) to Shadow)...
today, while in bed, i've read the Da Vinci code, and....didnt really like it :(

oh man, what's up with this chicken craze? yesterday in ap bio, we spent the period talking about how chicken nuggets are made O_O... after that i vowed never to eat at MacDonalds ever again. and now we're here talking about chickens and eggs... and i just had barbeque chicken for dinner.

Well that makes sense... now I know grins

but that doesn't explain the bit about crossing the road

and in other news about chickens... I went over to my friend's house after school and her neighbor has chickens and there was one really really pretty one that was like... black and white striped, and it got into her yard and we tried to shoo it back to where it was supposed to go but it wouldn't go, so we had to call up the neighbor and he came over walked right up to the chicken, snatched it up, put it under his arm and walked home, without saying a word to us. It was the most bizarre thing....

That chick within the egg is called balute in the Philippines. You can also get them in Thailand...(not in Taiwan though).

It actually tastes pretty good; like eating an egg that is super-rich in flavor. Contrary to what many people think, you can't really "feel" the bones of the chick but it is kind of crunchy.

Haha, they're in America too...at your local Asian Supermarket.

But our general perceptions of "decent food" are hard to overcome. Heck, some countries eat fried worms! I'm sure most things are good...but we resist them for some reason. Hence Fear Factor :|.

I think, though, if a person grew up in society without McDonalds, the concept of the cheesburger would be pretty wierd.

shrugs I geuss its just what you're used to.

I went to my local international food store the other day with my mom to get vegetables (because they a zillion types of these really amazing vegetables that my mom cooks stuff with but I have no idea what they're called because I cant read whatever language the signs are in) anyway its the sketchiest store... nothing has expiration dates on it and a lot of it smells like its probably past its expiration date a long time ago. But the vegetables are fresh and really raelly good.

... just wondering... do you eat the shell? It doesn't seem like there would be a lot of meat to a scorpion grins like a mini lobster lol
