hello everyone! i believe williams has been sending out information to some students about the summer science program. I was just wondering if anybody here has attended this program or know anything about it?

Also, is there a cost to attend this program?

Thanks!

My son got this invite too, perhaps because he applied via Questbridge as low-income. The impression I get is that this program is fairly remedial, as a way to bridge the supposed knowledge gap for those who might have had disadvantages in high school – although it does not come right out and say so.

I would like to know for sure, however: exactly what sort of program is this? My son has a strong interest in science, but already has a batch of 5s in the major science APs (calc BC, statistics, physics B, both physics Cs, and chemistry). He gets excited by acceleration, but is bored with repetition.

It’s all free, including the cost of getting there, at least for us.

I don’t know anything about it firsthand, but I believe it is a remedial-type “bridge program” to prepare students for the rigors of college.

What a great way for incoming freshmen to meet many of their Williams classmates and have a “leg” up on the comfort factor of socializing in the first month of school.
