when i visited williams in october, i was informed about the Summer Science Research program (or a similar name) where selected freshmen would be able to attend Williams during the summer, live at the dorms, and conduct research projects in science. i was also informed that the acceptance package would come with a postcard and other materials explaining how to sign up for the project. however, i have not received any information as of yet.

has someone else received any info? can some current williams student please shed some light on the situation? any info will be welcome. thanks.

I got a card for the humanities program.
I'm too lazy to find the card, but I remember the letter specifying that you must be a minority or a first generation college student.
If you are, maybe you should give Williams a call.

No offense to anyone, but I think its rather ridiculous that one must be a minority or first generation college student simply to participate in a summer research program. One cannot control such things.

Summer Science is not a research program. As far as I know, there is no such program (research) for incoming freshman. SS offers four classes to students, along with many other activities. I received the humanities counterpart, SSHS, but since they only have 16 slots, I won't know if I'm going until May.

SpookyAlien,sonyvaio, thanks for the info.
