"We appreciate your interest in the Navey Academy Summer Seminar, but regretfully....."
You all know the rest. I'm kind of dissapointed, kind of let down, by but no means have I given up my dream. I just wanted to wish all you attendees a great time and I will see you on I-Day.

Hello, when is the deadline? I can't find an exact date. I've been hesitant because I didn't have an SAT score and my PSAT scores were weak. From what I know, the SAT scores come in on April 11th. Would I still have enought ime to apply?

NO

if there is anyway to get your scores early, even if it means dishing out a few bucks, do it if you feel it will really help. Otherwise, you'd be far better off applying now.

While there is no deadline for applying, nearly every acceptance letter will have gone out by April 15 or earlier.

When you say your PSAT is weak...how weak is 'weak'?

The deadline for NASS application is 1 April, so do not delay. Include all test scores, regardless of your disappointment with them. USNA understands that PSAT scores are not official indicators of scholastic potential, and students typically do better on SATs/ACTs. Good luck.

ZN, I was not accepted to the Summer Seminar at first. But i persevered. I called Admissions and kept trying to convince them and get an acceptance. My mom's friend knew a Navy Commander and he contacted the academy. The Admissions looked at my record one last time and finally accepted me. So dont give up! if i can do it, you def. can do it!

AdmiralThomas,
How strong was you application, i know i was not accepted due to my psat scores and lasck of varsity sports, however i have other stuf that fills in? My uncle was a graduate from USNA and has several friends that are still in the Navy. What shouldi tell them to do? THanks, im not so down afterall....
ZN

Hello, my psat score was 192. Math in the 50s and verbal in the 60s. Should I just fill it out now? Also, would anyone know what to mark down for races if you're mestizo?

got in today :)

Hello everyone... I had a question to every that is just now applying to the USNASS... Could someone tell me when was the earliest that you could apply for this year's Summer Seminar? My sister is going to be hitting that age and she's shown interest so I was gonna make sure she realizes when she should get that application in. Thanks guys and gals

Class of 2009

I think February 1.

CM

my stats weren't that great either. What saved me is that i was on he debate team and ran Cross Country and did Lacrosse. I was really disappointed but believe me, dont give up. My PSAT scores weren't that great. Sure the Admissions is looking for academic quality, but they want leaders. They want people maintaining their confidence when it looks pretty ugly and ZN, you have the confidence. My best bet woud be to ask the admissions what else you can show them or send them a letter. But dont bug them lol. My friend (He's a "Doolie" at Air Force) was not accepted into the Air Force Academy at first. He tore down everything he had labeled "Air Force" in his room and he was realy upset. About two weeks later he finds out that he has been accepted to the class of 2008 at Air Force. So if we an do it ZN, you surely can!! Dont give up!!

WP2010 -- CONGRATULATIONS!!! When did you apply and what is your background (academics, sats, sports, etc.) -- only if you mind sharing!!

Hey everyone-

I applied to Summer Seminar on Feb 1 and I am still waiting for a reply. In the time since I filled out the application, I was elected to some other positions of leadership in my school. Should I let them know about this or is it most likely too late to matter? Any insight would be appreciated :-). Thanks.

Dd got the "fat envelope" today! She's in the first session. She applied March 4th--we were suprised at hearing so soon.

My son just received his acceptance letter yesterday to Session 1. He is thrilled.

Has anyone received an acceptance letter to Session 2 or 3??

You wanted to know about my sons interests; wrestling 3 yrs varsity, swimming, honor choir, student leadership. 3.9 cum. Has wanted to go to USNA since 8th grade. He works out all the time.

Yes..I received my acceptance letter for session 2 yesterday. I filled out the application in the beginning of february and was surprised that it came so soon. My psats were alright but my awesome class rank and my varsity sports were probably the determining factor. Also, i guess applying so soon in february had something to do with it, apparently they have tons of applications in mid to late march. Good luck to all..hope to see you there.

Admiral,
How shouldi go about conatcting admissions? an what should I ask my family friend, Captain at Pearlhabro, to ask the addmissions board for SS? It's almost like a revamp of life for me. Thanks.
ZN
oh and shouldi wait later to have him call, if more people do not accept their invites?

Well, I have some good news for ya!
There is at least one extra vacancy. I was accepted today, but regretfully cannot attend.
I was also accepted to AFA SS and the USMA SLS. I have already loaded my schedule with those programs. Also, my school does not let out until late June (can't miss finals).
