Summer Seminar App.

I'm fairly certain I already know the answer to this question, but I just wanted to make sure. Under the "Activites" section of the Summer Seminar application, there is a yes or no question simply stating "Pilot's Licence." I'm currently training for it as a cadet in Civil Air Patrol and have a good number of flight hours logged. However, I still haven't earned it yet. I'm 99% sure that I should answer "no," but I just wanted to double check and get a second opinion. Any thoughts?

will you ahve it soon? if so, be sure to note it in the application. also, if you now you will achieve it soon, it is your discretion whether or not to mark it.

good luck. and have fun. nass was the best week of my life. start running now.

i'm sorry, i should've reiterated, if you are going to get it soon, indicate it no matter what you decide.
this application becomes part of your usna application should you decide to continue persuing an appointment. you will not be able to personally change this part of it, but instead have to email your ro with all updates (totally a pian to type them all out, trust me, i now from experience)
make certian you put every possible thing down, you never know what might help later on in your app for appointment.

Son was exactly in the same position. He marked no and in the spot for additional information listed it, indicated number of hours, date soloed and when he expected to take ground exam and check ride.

fenderbender ... I suspect you know the answer to this one. And be assured, there will be many more like this one. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Heh.. I had the same problem with the NHS part. Last week I just got my letter saying I was academically accepted into NHS but first had to fill out an application before an actual acceptance. Unfortunately (or fortunately??), I filled out my application as soon as it opened Feb. 1st (finished 12:13 haha) and didn't know this then, so I just put "no." Better to tell the truth instead of lying and putting "yes." But I have to call anyway because of a minor mistake... so I might see if they can change that too. Who knows...

I also have another question regarding the space asking for my PSAT scores. Are the spaces meant for my percentile score? That is the only result I recieved, so I assume that is what the Academy is asking for. Any thoughts?

^^^^^
The academy is looking for your actual PSAT scores. Your report should have scores for Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing Skills. The scores range from 20 to 80. If you don't have the scores, you will need to get them from your guidance counselor.

Hope I filled all my stuff in right (I didn't get to print which is probably a bad thing). I'm just glad I finally got to apply, been having computer trouble at home so I had to do it at school & make several trips to guidance asking for test scores. So word of advice if you're filling it (or any other ap. for that matter!) out somewhere besides your house- have all of your info. with you!
