I already submitted my summer seminar application and used my PLAN score of 30/32. I just got my PSAT scores back and they are:
Critical Reading: 66
Math: 57
Writing Skills: 67

Should I update my application to include my PSAT scores or just leave my better PLAN scores?

You don't need to update it, they only take whatever your best scores are anyway, so stick with your better score (I don't really know what PLAN is, actually, we didn't have that in Oregon)

act predictor test. she did really well. i got a 26 and got an loa nom and now an appt. when my class took it 2 years ago i think the highest score I remember hearing was a 28. so congratulations! just keep working hard

falcongirl: I would update ALL scores... Despite the low math score for the PSAT the others are pretty good. I'd submit them, they take the best of the bunch anyway, so it shouldn't hurt you at all.

My low math score was why I was hesitant to include my PSAT results. I haven't had some of the math that was tested (geometry) since 8th grade, so I bought a review book and have been studying. Hopefully my ACT math scores will be much improved.

Mine did that last week and now has the name and phone number of both my USAFA counselor and ALO. I keep checking it to see if it says accepted :D

Just wondering how the online application works.
If the application site says that it is currently under review, will the applicant be notified by email or on the application site that they have been accepted or rejected?
Or will the acceptance or rejection notice be sent by regular mail?
thank you for your help.
When do the notices start going out?

This week my ALO sent me an email. He said he has some free evenings in February and that he could meet with me and my family to discuss any questions I have about the admissions process. I haven't replied yet. I feel like I should meet with him, but I don't have any specific questions (both my parents were Air Force Majors and my dad graduated from the AFA in '78, so all my questions have been answered either by them or the wonderful people on this forum). Any suggestions?

I sent my ALO and email Sunday night, but I plan on going in for a talk with him no matter what. I want him to see the look in my eyes that this is what I want to do with my life. Makes them feel good about helping you and recommending you later on.

Your dad didn't play on the hockey team, did he? I graduated from Air Academy HS in '78...watched all the AFA games. But I digress.

I would call/speak/meet with your ALO. You dad's information on USAFA is VERY dated unless he's kept up to date with the admissions folks on an annual basis; which I very much doubt unless he's an ALO. We ALO's are kept in the loop on ALL the "latest and greatest" and other things.

PLUS...realize: if you apply for USAFA next year...the ALO will have to be involved. Better to get to know them NOW...

I just emailed my ALO to say that I would love to meet with him to discuss the Academy and the admissions process when he is available. My dad was not on the Academy's hockey team (he ran CC). He admits that his information is very dated :), but we have some family friends (also grads) who have kept in the information loop (they were active cadet sponsors and have a son who just went through the admissions process). I would like to get to know my ALO now; hopefully it will take some of the pressure off during the admissions process.

If you have ANY trouble finding out who your ALO is, drop me a note at: flieger83@cox.net and give me your HS name and location and I'll get the information for you!
