Summer Seminar applications can be handed in as early as Feb 1st, and I intend to turn mine in as soon as possible. However, my PSAT scores were less than satisfactory, and I am worried that they may be too low. I scored: 61 math, 67 english, 66 writing. The one I'm concerned about is the Math. My ACT math score was better, a 29.
Do you think I'll be ok submitting those scores, or should I wait to get my SAT scores back (taking them Jan 27) in hopes that I will have a better math score to show?

They're fine. Go at it. Send 'em your new scores if they're better.

send it! i'm not sure if you're a girl or a guy...but i think it actually makes a bit of a difference.
i got a 58-eng. 62-math, 5something-writing..and i got in to nass(i'm a girl-and there was on average 1-3 girls for every 8 or so guys.. the week is insane, but incredibley fun!).
after you submit the initial summer seminar application, you can go ahead and forward your SAT scores to the acadmey. i'm not sure if they'll even see them, seeing as theyre still processing c/0 2011 applications/sat scores..but it def wont hurt to try.

good luck!

Empire....don't fret about your SAT scores. USNA knows they are early scores and that many if not most candidates retake them and will resubmit them. Your scores put you in the ballpark, which is what counts right now. My current Plebe sat around until the stroke of midnight of the first day of 2005's application to Summer Seminar....she was that eager to be in as soon as possible. It made a difference too. She did this for all 3 Service Academies and heard within days for USMA, and 1 week later for USAFA and within 2 weeks I think from USNA ( yes, they were a bit slower) . The earlier the application the better your chances are so start preparing and God speed!

Just curious...is the Summer Seminar application up yet? I haven't seen it on the USNA site.

01 Feb, midnite last year.

USAFA and USMA were up Jan 2nd, I recall for 2005 - but USNA wasn't up until a whole month later, Feb 1st 05....and from WhistlePig it sounds like it was the same last year. So if you are interested in applications to all the Academies you better check on the other schools already, but you still have time for USNA

Empire - your scores look good. Summer seminar weeks are June 2-7, 9-14, and 16-21 this year. Applications are due February 1 again this year. Remember, they are looking for a well-rounded applicant which means much more than academics.

Remember that NASS is also based on demographics. They want to draw in as many people as possible from all over the country and space is limited. Not getting into NASS doesn't mean that you won't get into the Naval Academy.

So does this mean that me living in Europe because of where my father is stationed will help alot?

^^^^^
Living in Europe won't make any difference. The demographic that will be considered is the State and Congressional district from which you will be eligible to receive a nomination.
