banglin- maybe we could get dinner because I am by myself for the trip.

ya, me 2, well, Im flying in on Friday from West Point, and my dad is meeting me that night, and stayin saturday morning to help me wit some laudry, but then he is leaving me that afternoon, so Ill be all by my lonesome, and that sounds like a good idea to me, that hotel is real close to a bunch of stuff

On the topic of luggage, I don't know how many pieces I should really bring. I would usually bring two, but since we are getting so much stuff there I'm thinking about 3 (backpack, duffel bag, suitcase). So, how many pieces did you guys bring last year? Also, how much space did you have in your suitcases between what you brought to SS and what you left with? Did all the things you got really make a difference?

they give you a duffel bag there. I came with only one bag and it was a carry on and it was stuffed to its limits and everything worked out fine because on the flight home I just checked it in and carried the duffel bag they gave us onto the plane.

Well, I took more than I needed to SS last year, but that's b/c I brought extra PT clothes. If this year is like last year, you will need something nice to wear on Thursday night for the big dinner/dance. Other than that, just make sure you have enough clothes to wear to the classes, and you'll be good. Although, I'm a guy so my suggestions probably won't help girls. Redhead or Bluemer might be able to help any of you girls with luggage questions.

like how dressy? On the list, it didnt say anything, so I didnt know if we needed anything like that for thursday night

Formal attire, like a nice banquet dress. And you wear the shirts they give you all throughout the week so don't bring too much clothes. Most people just wore one pair of jeans the whole week. Bring your toiletries, enough undergarments for one week, a towel, PT shoes, hair ties, and clothes to go home in. That's pretty much all you need.

Oooooh, a dance? I don't remember anything about this on the info I got, but I do love dances!

I didn't know there was a dance, but that sounds like fun! So girls should bring a dress? I remember them saying that we needed tan pants. Do you wear those to the workshops with shirts they give you or do you just wear jeans and a shirt every day? And for PT do we wear the workout clothes they provide or should we bring our own? Sorry that was kind of long but I just don't want to not have something I need. Thanks!

you wear the pt clothes they provide. I don't remember anything about tan pants. I wore jeans everyday so I guess they are changing things up this year. Just bring whatever they tell you to bring. I remember the list being pretty thorough.

Anyone else get that waiver about the Summer Seminar video they'll be making while we're there?

I remember checking off a box saying that I was ok with being part of the video.

I got that letter today, CWJones411.

To echo Bluemer, just bring what they say to bring. If they don't mention dress clothes, don't bring them. They are changing some stuff this year, so our advice won't be as valuable as I had hoped it would be. From the sounds of it, you guys and gals will have a different experience, more like West Point and Annapolis' SS than last year's USAFA SS. Once again, go with what USAFA said, not our experiences from last year.

Oh, and by tan pants, I'm guessing you mean khaki's?

Yeah, I got that letter too. It's so fun to read all the many, crazy things that we are allowing them to do with the footage they get. :)

My favorite part was the line about waiving all injuries, including but not limited to those incurred by lights. I can imagine several things at USAFA more dangerous than some lights!

Falcons- I ment khaki:)
CWJones- I also got that letter yesterday.
This week must be fun if we have to sign off our lives:)

Oh trust me, this is just the beginning of signing stuff. Wait till you start the application process after you get back. 2011 leaves in about 5 weeks, and we're still signing stuff. You offically "sign" you life away later.

How true it is... and more to come on I day :)

I'm going to the second seminar, if anyone wants to meet up let me know.

Any idea how many people get accepted to these things?
