you have to meet a minimum score in order to gain admission...

iam not totally sure what the minimums are but the average rande is as follows: English 26-30
Math 27-30
Reading 26-32
Science 26-29

plain and simple, you CANNOT gain admission with those scores, you still have some time, but keep taking that test and study hard to improve your score...

and how do you get a 4.0 GPA but bomb the ACT? not a good test taker?

no they wont hear for a little while longer, you my friend arent very competetive with those ACT scores however and that should be your main priority right now, its too late to help you for summer seminar but there are other opportunities to visit in the future if you decide it is what you still want to do, study for that test and nail it good bud...

PS. I didnt go to summer seminar and I got my appointment last month, its not a heavily weighted factor in admissions so its cool if you dont go... Keep it up and let us know;)

Had an interview with my ALO a while ago. It was more of an informational talk since I've known my ALO for a while. Gave me some good advice, and constructive criticism.

Selections for the program will be made the last week in March with notification to the students of selection or non-selection by the first week of April 2008.

That's from the acadmey's website. So nope. No one's gotten in yet.

Ya I've had my interview already; I thought went pretty well. One of the most interesting questions he asked me was "What specific aircraft do you want to fly?" Anyone else get asked that?

The summer seminar was a last minute desire by my son last year. He wanted the academy, but because of football camps; including one at the air force academy, he wasn't sure about putting in for the summer seminar. The deadline was something like March 17th. We put it in like 2 days before the deadline. He found out a couple of weeks later. If I remember; somewhere around the first week of April. I'm thinking maybe they wait until all applications have been put in before selecting. Not sure if they have an early selection like the academy. You might have to wait until the first part of April. However; if some on this forum was notified of their selection in march, I guess it's possible. Just going on what the ALO said.

my daughter applied to the summer seminar in jan of 07 and found out on feb 22 of 07 that she had early acceptance. she got a letter in the mail. not sure how it is working this year.

upatel23: Ya thats what I said too along with the B-2, although I can't imagine too many guys who would've said they were shooting for a medium sized cargo plane. I'm wondering if they'll have some guest speaker pilots there or something. I should have said the LC-130 the ski plane :p

I have not heard from the Air Force Academy yet. Pretty nerve racking. Last week I got accepted to the Naval Academy Summer Seminar. I got accetped early. West Point was rather quick. A week after I submitted my application I got turned down. I;m praying that I will get in the Academy Seminar.
