Got my thumbs up letter for session 1 today! I'm so pumped! Anyone else going?

Heh, I can't believe the new NASS group is already forming. It still feels like I was just there.

Is this guy serious? I though they were being sent out in mid-March.

I got mine around this time last year, too. Maybe a week or two later.

Ya, I'm serious. I applied pretty early so they're probably just going through the "pile" in order.

Wow Simayan I know what you mean I feel the same. Its amazing how fast a senior year can go.

You guys will have a blast! NASS was so fun! I really want to go back!

going back to summer seminar is possible.
there is always the option of being a summer seminar squad leader between your plebe and youngster years. that's what my son will be doing this summer.

and then you can be a company or platoon leader your 1/c year.

They even asked us NASSers on the last day at lunch who wanted to be future NASS cadre. (I raised my hand)

that was only like 8 months past but it seems like forever ago. oh the days. the next time i'll be there will be I-Day

How are the appts coming for those other guys at your school?

2 of us have appointments, one decided he didnt even want to finish pursuing his despite his LOA, and the other is still waiting on an eye waiver but hopefully it will work out well.

Zoobernarf, did you apply for NASS the first day the admissions opened for it?

Ya, I was lucky enough to get a snow day on the day they opened it. I got up, checked the application page, saw it wasn't up, checked again in about 5 minutes, and, like magic, a link appeared on the page to apply. This all happened at about 9:00AM on Feb 1st.

I applied for NASS at about 7pm on the first. I have'nt heard anything yet. Do you think that's a bad sign?

no i wouldnt stress it. it is so early right now. i didnt find out about NASS till a for a few weeks (i guess mid march-ish) yet I got an LOA in october and an appointment in early january. its so early right now in NASS applications that you need not worry. and even if you do not get a slot at NASS, there is still plenty of hope for you. only roughly 60% of NASS-ers get an appointment so definitely not everyone gets one that even goes.

Just curious--does the notification for NASS come by postal mail or e-mail?

Postal mail. Expect to hear around mid to late march.

I already heard about my acceptance to the NASS last week by mail. Maybe it depends on how early you applied. I applied like three days after the application opened. Then again there are candidates that applied the day before the deadline is due and get accepted and those who apply on 12 AM of the very same day the application opens and get rejected. Although I got rejected into the West Point seminar and haven't heard from the Air Force yet, needless to say I am very exited.
