Summer Session at Penn State

They will look at mine only because my school doesn't weight properly. They add .3 whether you take 1 AP or 10 AP's. They said they will look, they always look at the transcripts.

yea well then it all depends on the letters on there. is it A's, B's, C's, or D's. Is your rank good? And why does your school do that that is the wierdest thing I've ever heard?

My school doesnt rank either, I have mostly A's and B's. I got a C+ in AP European History. I think I can get in for summer. Pray for me I know im going crazy and im so sorry I just wanna go here.

no trust me im going crazy too but at this point there is nothing we can do. i think you will be okay, no news is good news. i just hope when ur status does change you dont have a heart attack!

and ill pray for you and you pray for me and, hopefully, if we both get in . . . we can celebrate this summer.

Hahah definitely, I heard of people being accepted into Summer with extremely low stats, no reason for us not to be accepted there. Im praying for you too, I still have indiana as my backup so whatever. Let us get in and party next year.

hahah indiana is my back up too! but really is the only person u heard of for summer the girl on FB.. because i think that's a wierd story and theres more to it then just a 2.9 and 1110

I've heard other people who got in with a 3.3 and a 1000 sat.

Admissions officers told me its somewhat easier to get into because not that many people apply for it.

slugger.. relax lol

You'll get in, just be patient.

lol jets . . i dont wanna be annoying but do u think ill get in?

What are your stats? I've seen slugger post his like 50 times on this site, so that's how I know.

I apologize. love u guys

yeah, it was pretty disappointing. i have higher stats then some people who got into summer, its *****. i emailed and asked them for reconsideration. plus, they had the wrong major on my application. **es.

good luck you guys.

The major might have actually been the thing that didnt get you in, I saw your stats, I think you should've gotten in, especially for Summer. What major did they have down? Thats messed up, I feel for you.

hey guys, i've been reading all of your comments and i was wondering.. if you didnt apply for summer, just fall.. obviously your chances are less, but if you dont get in can you call and ask for reconsideration for summer session?

and. i applied to the alternate campus, altoona. but i wouldnt want to go unless i got into UP, so if i get into altoona can i call and ask for reconsideration for university park summer?

congrats to those who got in!

I really hope we all get in... I'm still freaking. I've decided to stop checking my penn state and just wait until I get a letter. I don't want the added stress of knowing it's on the way. I still haven't called admissions and asked them to change my application to consider me for summer, because I don't want to go look it up in fear of seeing my application status, lol.

If you get in for fall you can call/email and ask them to change it to summer. I'm like 90% sure I'm going to do this because I want to double major and need to start taking classes early. And if you get into Altoona you can try to transfer after a year, or I'm pretty sure definitly transfer after two. It's not even an hour away from here so it would be easy for you to get the full Penn Stateness with football games and such :)

okay..

slugger - i wanted undecieded, thats what i applied for, but i got enrolled into the human and health development college. i have NO idea how.

toni - i didnt get int UP but i got into altoona. i emailed them and asked for reconsideration and they said they dont give out reconsideration unless you have extenuating circumstances (ie. death in family, major injury, or undiagnosed learning disability) .. thats almost verbatim.

let me know when you guys find out!

Thats extremely unfortunate, I hope the best for you Courtney, my guidance counselor told me a I have a great shot, so I am not freaking out anymore but I am still nervous. I dont understand how they switched your majors like that! Thats completely unfair, undecided is so much easier to get admitted to. You'll have an awesome time wherever you go.

i have a 3.6 weighted and a 1170. i hear that they dont look at weighted though . . but weight it on its own scale.

I feel better about getting in, I have a 3.7 weighted and a 1180, you should be fine.
