I was accepted to the class of 2018 RD, and I’m interested in taking summer classes prior to starting my freshman year (officially) to get a feel for the place and get adjusted to the material. Does anyone familiar with Brown want to give me tips on what’s worth taking over the summer, and what would be a waste of time (or substantially more difficult to do well in)?

I’ve looked at the course guide and am interested in:

Principles of Economics: http://www.brown.edu/ce/undergrad/catalog/course.php?id=1093
Introductory Calculus, I: http://www.brown.edu/ce/undergrad/catalog/course.php?id=6
Introductory Calculus, II: http://www.brown.edu/ce/undergrad/catalog/course.php?id=13
Critical Reasoning: http://www.brown.edu/ce/undergrad/catalog/course.php?id=972

I list both Calc classes because the first one seems a bit too easy for me-- I’ve studied everything that’s detailed in the course description before-- but I don’t want to judge based solely on that. Would Calc II be alright? IB Maths is my background.

As for Econ VS Philosophy, which would I get more out of in the short 7 weeks? I understand that they are condensed courses.
