Summer session for freshman (incoming)

Is it possible for incoming freshmen to enroll in summer session in the summer before starting freshman year? Thanks.

Yes it is.

Do you recommend that I do it? I want to get used to the college experience, meet some new people.

I am matriculating to UCLA Fall 2008 and have received a very good financial aid package. Would I get financial aid for summer also?

I'm thinking about doing travel study or learn a new language..

Yes, you will get a financial package if you qualified to receive one in 2008. However, some of the financial aide will be either prorated, I think. Either way, I believe you financial aide that you get in subsequent quarters will be deducted according to how much you receive during the summer.

Language or GE, and/or an introduction course is fine for your case.

I enrolled in summer school before my freshmen year but I lived at home (easily commutable to campus). If you're an ethnic minority (black/latino mostly) qualifying for AAP you can attend the freshmen summer program which gives you a leg up.
