I'm on the waitlist for CHEM 143B and CHEM 100A, first and fifth, respectively. Does anyone know if these waitlists move at all or if hardly anyone drops?

you’ll get into 143B. that and 143C were probably the most enjoyable labs i took at UCSD.

Yeah, I’m pretty excited about 143B. Still haven’t decided whether I want to take 143C or 143D though.

the best part about 143C is that once you finish your 5 elucidations, you’re done. my roommate finished halfway through the quarter and presto, no more lab after that!

(also, if you’re a girl, being a student of dr bob is … shall we say … easier.)

@astrina

So funny you point that out about said professor (don’t want to say name and blow him up on the net). He seemed to know every blonde girls name in our ochem class, yet couldn’t remember any names of students who scored A’s on his exams. Can you say wandering eyes? haha, gotta love the guy though, he’s an awesome professor!

^ this has been true ever since he started the job. however, his passion for teaching has never been questioned … i personally think his quirks are funny, but obviously i’ve benefited from them.

anecdote: when i took 143C, he handpicked extra credit items for us, so he’d hand over the structure of something and we’d have to run off to the library to do some basic research and analysis. maaayyybeee it was pure coincidence that the girls in my little cohort got the simple structures and the boys happened to get crazy complex messes. just maybe.
