How are summer school environments at UCLA (on campus)? Will it be like weekends, where it is semidead?

Will there be floor activities for those who stay at Reiber?

It is still crowded by a million summer camps and various visitors and conferences. Overall, it is less crowded, but not by much. The lack of UCLA students is filled up by outsiders.

Also it is so much nicer here in the summer with weather. The environment is just more laid back. I had great childhood memories going to summer camps at UCLA.

yeah, I liked how the campus was so much more relaxed during the summer.

There's lots of international students and lots of high school kids from summer camps. It seemed like there were a lot of people in Rieber that were from Taiwan/China/Some Asian country. There were only a couple of activities like some movie night and one or two social events. A lot of the international students went on trips to San Francisco, etc through that student travel agency thing. I can't remember what it is. I stayed in Saxon, so I didn't really get to know anybody except for my suitemates and a couple people I met through them.

Everything is better during Summer Sessions. Bruin Walk is less crowded, the dining halls have shorter line-ups, the South Campus classes are less competitive, and traffic in Westwood is greatly diminished. The best part, however, is the overall laid-back atmosphere. Even the professors and TAs are more laid-back when teaching Summer Sessions courses. The downside, though, is living in the dorms which have no air-conditioning when it reaches 90 degrees outside in the afternoons. I highly recommend purchasing a fan for your room.

westwood is dead, campus is veeery open. it's good and bad.

Westwood is never "dead" -- there's just more Westwood for me to enjoy.

Life is just better in the summer, what can ya say.

Since I've never had a spring session here yet, what is it like? I hear Fall kids are excited and new, Winter they're kinda depressed and down, and Spring things light up again. B/c of weather, longer days, closer to summer, spring in the air, etc. Is this true in your experiences?
