UC Transferable GPA: 3.7

Major GPA: 4.0

Major: Interdisciplinary Studies

I'm applying to UC Berkeley this November, and I'm having trouble deciding whether I should take a course this summer at Berkeley.

Its an upper division social theory class that is required for my major (upper division requirement).

I highly doubt I'll get anything lower than a B, but even a B is a little scary considering my improving grade trend.

Pros:

An A would look great.

Fun and Interesting course with helpful professor.

Cons:

I might mess up my chances if it hurts my GPA ie I get anything below an A.

At least, I feel like it would screw me over, a B couldn't possible look good among my recent 4.0 streak, and it being so close to application season...

I feel like if I take it, I'm putting myself at risk, since at this point, I have a pretty good shot at Berkeley.

What do you guys think?

Note: the course is based on 30% Participation, 40% take home mid-term, 30% take home essay.
