This might be a stupid question but can freshman daughter who is going to live in a sorority house next fall move items into sorority house? If not into the room, somewhere in the house for storage? Would make things so much easier for out of state students. Of course, don’t know how they houses are used during the summer. Thank you!!
It depends on the house. My kid’s sorority used to allow few boxes, but not in the last few years due to liability. On the other hand, your daughter may have some friends (or older sorority sisters) with off campus rentals where she could store few things. Another alternative is to pay for summer storage. I don’t think it’s that expensive if you shop around.
If you have to store, look into Storage Squad. They’ll pick up your kid’s stuff at the dorm, and deliver it in the fall for a reasonable cost. We’ve used them the past two years for our out of state student with great success. Big Red Box is a similar company (seem to be a little more pricey).
