Does anyone have any experience with any summer storage places near UD? We will have to store DD's bike locally (bike store charges $15/month) and I'm not sure that DD can find someone who lives close to store her rug (which I cannot drive home with in my CRV) and possibly a microwave. So I started looking into local storage places and asked DD if she has a friend who would want to share. Then we can put bike and other things (whatever I can get her to leave there) in storage.

I found Reybold's online yesterday. Seemed very close and not too costly. Anyone ever used this? Any other suggestions?

DD stored stuff with friends who had a year round rental with a basement. Another year she used the Extra Space Storage on Ruthar, smallest unit, drive up, when she had more stuff. She had friends that rented larger units and doubled up. She didn’t need climate controlled, wasn’t storing computer equipment and we figured the TV, micro and refrigerator would survive the heat (they did) .
One word of caution. If they offer an online special be sure to print out the offer and have the person doing your contract sign it and save a copy.

Thanks. I will check out the place on Ruthar.

Lazybones also offers summer storage for UD students. here’s the website to learn more: [Summer Storage for Students / UD Alumni Relations](http://www.udconnection.com/Students/Summer-Storage-for-Students)

I reserved with Reybold at their Newark location - 3 months for approx $152. This was a “student special” and I do believe it is a few dollars less than the posted rate. I reserved by calling, not online. The space is 5 x 5 x 7. You can bring your own lock or buy one from them. I believe its climate controlled, but not sure if that is necessary. You might be able to get a non-climate controlled space at one of their other locations for a few dollars less. They said they would prorate for partial months, which hopefully means we will save a few dollars as my D will be back in Newark early for RA training.

btw, thanks for the initial post, as this was on mind to look into, and the post was a reminder to take care of it.

momof2giants: Looks like a great option. Need to get DD to focus on this. I spoke with her this morning but she sounded so exhausted that I didn’t want to talk to her about it. I’m going down next weekend - will try to get this nailed down.

You might want to do a little calling around sooner rather than later as the the smaller units tend to go quickly.

Btw, I put down a $25 deposit at Reybold to reserve. She said they weren’t fully booked yet, but that they will be fully booked for the summer. So, I decided to make sure it was covered.
