Does anyone know the names of companies that pick up and store dorm/winter things over the summer. I know I am early but I would like to know my options.

There are self storage units near Elon but I don’t know anyone who picks up…

I pm’ed you TM, but thought others might like to see this…google is a wonderful thing…

Thanks! I emailed them and will let everyone know what they say. I think my friend used them at Penn so I am going to ask her about he service. I too had seen self storage but hadn’t seen any ads for pick up/delivery type of storage.

Am at Elon for Family Weekend, tonight we drove past some self-storage units on Haggard between the Oaks and the Arts West building. Don’t know if they pick up, though.

Bumping this up…did anyone ever contact my link? Is there a pick-up/delivery service?

Edit: just found this…has anyone used it?

just depends on how much “stuff” there is to store; we will see…

My son chipped in with several students for a unit at a place very near campus. It ended being very inexpensive and worked out beautifully. I will try to find out the name of the place.

My son used Elon Self Storage
800 W Haggard Ave, Elon, NC 27244 336-449-4473
It is very near campus. It worked out fine.

Use the website http://elonsummerstorage.com --They deliver spacious bins for you to pack, then pick up and securely store those bins once you’re done packing them, then re-deliver them to your new dorm, apartment or address in the fall! All the details are on the website and they are a college parents dream come true!! Especially if you live out of state! They even store oversized items like futons, beds, refrigerators etc.
Try here!!
I noticed a few parents discussing summer storage. I would suggest google searching for summer storage places. There are companies that specialize in student storage and you won’t have to rent a whole unit. The one we used last year came right to my daughter dorm and it was awesome! Highly recommended Help U Store It. www.HelpUStoreIt.com
Last year (doing the same this year) my Son had a friend living at Mill Point so he was able to keep stuff there
I highly recommend http://elonsummerstorage.com Their customer service is AMAZING! Not only was sign up EASY but my daughter was given a number to text anytime she needed more bins and moving supplies. They were right on time for the time slot my daughter chose, and she was able to fly home without me ever having to leave the office. If you’re considering using anybody this year to move your child out of their dorm then consider http://elonsummerstorage.com I cant stress how useful this company was for us last year. Oh, and something else to note, they don’t use cardboard, instead they deliver heavy duty containers that are zip tied when full. Theres no tape, but best of all, you know your stuff is safe!
