Any great ideas of what students do with their stuff over the summer? I mean the stuff that you would need in the Fall and don't want to schlep back home over the summer: printer, tv, winter clothes, etc. Any good ideas for storage spaces? Thanks!

i would like to know the answer to this as well

Bumpity bump

I asked my son about this. Unfortunately, most of his friends live within a relatively easy drive of campus, so they just take stuff home. For us, my MIL will drive up there during finals week and take everything but the bare essentials (and what he’ll need for the summer) and store it at her house (90 minutes away).

Sorry I can’t be of more help!!! :(

You can rent a storage locker at this place for, if I remember correctly, about $50/month… it’s not a bad drive from campus (maybe 10-15 minutes).

The smallest storage locker would probably hold more than one dorm room’s worth of stuff, if you wanted to split the cost with a friend.

Sullivan’s Mini Storage 301 Rolling Ridge Drive, Bellefonte - (814) 231-3000

If they don’t have availability there are other similar places around SC as well.

This might be closer-- [Self Storage in State College, PA at Space Mart Self Storage State College, PA](http://spacemartstorage.com/storage-state-college-pa.php)
We have used it and it was fine.

Thanks all.

There are a few full-service storage options available. They will deliver boxes, pickup, store for the summer, then redeliver. Two I have heard of on campus are Storage Squad and Hoy Transport. Storage Squad is relatively new and seems to have a lot better pricing. Hoy Transport has been around awhile.

[Storage Squad](http://www.storagesquad.com/)

[Hoy Transfer, Inc. | Home](<a href=“Hoy Transfer, Inc.”>http://hoytransfer.com/)

[Hoy Transfer, Inc. | Semester Solutions](<a href=“Hoy Transfer, Inc.”>Hoy Transfer, Inc.)

Hoy Transfer is an old local company with long ties to Penn State. They drive all the football gear to away games.

Since a majority of the students do go home for the summer, I think seeking out some type of off-site storage is usually the preferred option. While I have no personal experience with any of these facilities, I did find a list that I thought could be helpful: [Find State College, PA self storage for rent - SelfStorage.com](Cheap Storage Units in State College, PA (from $21)).

Not sure what pricing is like at these places either, but if this is something you are interested in you should definitely take a look. Hopefully you dont have that much stuff either bc as a general rule the smaller the unit, the cheaper the price. Should be some good summer promotions going on too, especially in that area. Good luck!
