I’m going to junior year and I’m starting to get nervous. I’m signed up for a lot of hard classes but I’m mostly just scared for AP chem, AP Ab and Bc calc, and AP U.S.
What are some things i can do over the summer to prepare?
Some schools give out summer work so that you can prepare for the class by practicing the prerequisites.
Why both AB and BC Calc? Usually its one or the other, or both over two years.
If you’ve taken any classes in the past similar to the ones you signed up for this year (regular/honors chem, precalc, regular/honors US history), go over any notes and study guides you have.
There’s also a lot of content online to help students study for AP classes. Try searching for chapter outlines, vocabulary (Quizlet is a good flash card site with just about every subject), tips on AP classes in general if you’ve never taken any, etc.
Oh my gosh I’m an incoming junior too and I’m taking the exact same APs as you!! I have a little summer work for them so I’ll do that. I’m going to try to read a lot of my APUSH book and get ahead in calc BC by making sure I am very comfortable with all precalc, algerbra 2, etc topics and also learn derivatives and integrals. You can also get review books and practice in them over the summer (or borrow them from the library). Yeah and also there are a lot of videos, sites, etc for AP classes online that are free so that’s good!
I’m taking AB first semester and BC second. I have AB summer work but it’s mostly just review from precalc
Read the textbook over the summer, do all the problems, take practice tests. Then, act smart in your class as though you were born ready
