<p>It seems like all everyone does is volunteer at this hospital or go to this volunteer camp.</p>

<p>I did tons research during the summer of my high school years. I am doing my master in biomedical engineering right now, so that explains why I did it. Have that said, depends on what you are interested in studying. Most of the colleges want to hear about stuff you learn from your summer, rather than the stuffs you have done. My friend (graduating from Stanford) sailed from the east coast to the west coast with team of 4. That’s a good story to tell, and I bet he learn a ton. So do stuff that you enjoy, and try things that you haven’t try. Pack up and go travel if you feel like it.</p>
