Hello. I’m not sure if I’m applying to this program, but I’m currently a sophomore and I’m interested. If I apply, I will also be applying for the “Provost’s Pre-College Summer Scholarship for Military High School Students,” which will give me free tuition and housing and such. Anyone know anything about the program? Is anyone here applying?
I had no idea there was a summer at USC program. Where can I get more info about this application process? USC happens to be my first choice in universities
@TheLandOfArielle http://summer.usc.edu/index.shtml The admissions are rolling so you should apply as soon as possible. It’s a lot of money though, unless you’re a military dependent. If you are, and you apply to the scholarship thing, it’s free.
Checked it out, it looks alright. It kind of strikes me as one of those programs that just reels people in because USC is hosting it
@TheLandOfArielle Yeah, I’m kinda thinking that too. I went to a different program that was much less money last year and I don’t know if this one is just one of those types of programs that are just money-makers for the university and not quality.
Maybe an alumni can chime in?..
Hi there!
I’m a USC Alum and a former Summer@USC staff member, and I think it’s a great program! The rigor of the classes vary based on the subject. My students in visual communications had a much less stressful summer than the architecture students. Even as a staff member, Summer@USC was one of my favorite summers. Many of the students go on to attend USC and working for the program
@BlackTrojan Thanks for the information! Do you know how hard it is to get in? Do you know anything about the military scholarship?
I went to SUMMER@USC Game Design last year. It’s not hard to get in but I personally think the program is overpriced. Staff , students, and faculty there are awesome and i 100% love the school. My only issue is with the price. I dont think what I gained from the program is worth that much. (personal opinions only)
@MisterStudentt Thanks for your opinion. I think it’s overpriced too.
