I sent in my stuff a few days ago!

I haven't yet, will do w/ in two days.......u r going to WCU too right? doing the field bio?

I was very lucky to get my two top class assignments of Field Biology and Multidimensional Health and Well Being. :) Is the Health the same as the very competitve "Medicine" class I hear about?

I'm at App State. Is it nice there? Where is the best SVSM campus? What should I expect from the campus and the program itself? Any SVSM alumni?

lol. Are some of you already at SVSM as I type this? I know some of you ARE going to SVSM later this summer. Can ANYONE answer my questions above? ^

I'm going to SVSM next Friday at WCU. I thought I'd be dealing w/ some other fields of biology......but I guess I've to do Ecological Research. :( Anyway, it's still quite interesting!

You're going early? Because the date to report is June 17, a sunday...

my bad! I am going there around 4 o clock on Saturday....I just mistakenly said Friday!

what to bring to SVSM -- anyone bringing a laptop? My son has to do independent research and not sure I want to let him take his laptop up.

What other things should ya bring - oh i know he is going to take so much stuff.

well, I'd rather bring all the things that we've been told to bring.........nothing fancy and stuffs......since it'd be just a month! I wouldn't bring a laptop. What's the thing abt the independent research though? What is his subject? I think for a lot of us, the break weekend can be a bit troublesome......since a lot of students will be coming as far as 6-8 hrs. So, it'd be rather like a hectic journey! I think we should've one more day in btw to make it easier!

He is going to NCCU and is taking Synthesis, isolation and Characterization of New Materials - deals with organic chemistry techniques etc - it is two modules. His last module is Number Patterns.

Im not sure about the laptop - still undecided. The second module of organic chem is where the research comes in.

We live about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs away from NCCU.

im going to boys state next week then SVSM two weeks later. Laptop is essential! Without it u cant do research or check email.

Well, I don't know abt other places but at WCU they told us that "computer is by no means necessary" and it's completely personal choice whether u bring it there or not. The computer labs will always be open for research and stuffs.

I'm doing Ecological Research so, I've to rather spend bulk of my time outside collecting and interpreting datas! I'm not sure though what exactly will I be doing research on. And I'll have to work in a group of 4.

how much stuff do you guys got packed?

Cubsfan, are u going to WCU?

Im applying to summer ventures this summer. I'm a sophomore-#1 in my class, 187 on the psat, highest gpa award in geometry and english my ninth grade year, member of beta club, key club secretary, marching band, wind ensemble, i've never made anything less than a 100 on my transcript. chances, please??

how do you apply for finanacial aid during te SVSM program?

idk i didnt know it was necessary…im so nervous letters are sent out tomorrow!

There was a checkbox on the application to request financial aid.

I got into ASU, not sure if I’m going to go though. I applied to a few other summer programs as well.

how did you find out today?

just found out that i got in! UNCC from june 21- july 18
