That’s funny. I wanted to go to ECU because I have lived there for 9 years and know the area by heart. However, I am grateful that I was selected!! So, wherever they send me is fine.
ECU is a very nice place, and I am sure that you will have a blast! Which program are you doing? (medicine, chemistry, etc.)

Charlotte is a very big and fun city! I live an hour from there; so, we go often Their NASCAR stadium is worth checking out!

If you live an hour from Charlotte, we might be close. I live in Davidson County.

My first pick for Summer Ventures was Computer Science, but I don’t know the classes until I receive info from ECU. Too bad they wouldn’t let us switch spots.

I’m an alternate for ECU, does anyone know if it will be likely or not that I’ll get in? I really want to go! I hope a lot of people drop out :(

@Mich5225: Thanks! I hope its fun.
That sounds pretty cool, I wish my school would do that. I am fortunate enough to have Pre Calc and AP Calculus at my school though. This is actually the first year in 3 years that there has been enough smart juniors to offer AP’s classes. It was a real fight to get them to offer AP Biology, but me and my friends made it happen.

Nice meeting you as well. :)

@mlover15: Awesome! Sounds like fun! I applied for the following on my application;

Are you on Facebook? Maybe we should start a Summer Ventures 2012 page. Sorry, I don’t have time to do right now but would love to join if you make one. Interested?

@mich5225 I live in Guilford County; so, we are pretty close. I wish we could trade places! My selections were: Medicine, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. But, do not know what App is offering until the letter comes.
Maybe if this thread gains popularity, we can start a FB page.

My letter states that “Dr. Mary Farwell will be contacting you within the next few day…sending program assignments.” I assume it will be soon. Called Summer Ventures office on Thursday. They told me where I was going, but had no clue about what I would be studying. Don’t waste your time calling them.

@Iceindian101- what were your program picks, ie Chemistry, Computer Science, etc?

@mich5225: Yeah my letter says the same thing. I hope it’s soon!
Now that I think of it, I am wondering why I put Applied Math as my 4th choice… if I have that class I will be bored out of my mind.

@nate42: I’m waiting for mail or a call in the next week. I hope it’s soon too because I’m really curious. But I’m not sure why I put Archaeology as my 4th choice either…
