Is it wise to take a summer visit to NU if you're interested in applying this upcoming fall? And if so can you get tours with the school and sit in classes, etc?

I don't know about classes, but there are definitely summer tours.

dcb07, it would indeed be wise to do a campus tour, if you'll be applying in the fall. Be sure to fill out the card when you take the tour. Schools keep track of who bothers to visit. Although it's somewhat late to establish early interest, it won't hurt your application. More importantly, you'll get to know the school better, which will help in your own decision.

Coming out to Northwestern in the summer and seeing the campus, meeting the people, taking a tour, etc., really sealed the deal for me.

Well I took a group tour in the winter and I filled out the forms but i think it would be a good idea to see the school in summer.

You saw the campus in winter and that's probably more important, since you won't be there much in the summer. If you feel you'd like to see the campus in the summer then do it. It's lovely, and you'll have a good time. If you do, be sure you fill out the card - again. They keep track of all that.
