I just got an email today that I'm on some kind of "Summer Waitlist." Anyone know what exactly this means? Is it more selective than the summer waitlist, or will I forever be in waitlist limbo?
Thankees!

They’re going to the waitlist again next week. I havn’t heard of the summer waitlist…but I’m assuming we’re automatically on it if we havn’t been granted admission yet and are still interested in attending.

No we are not. Johns Hopkins is not admitting any students off the wait list this week, next week, or any time in the near future. Please do not post such information that is completely false.

The only accurate updates about the Johns Hopkins wait list (including an explanation about the summer wait list) can be found here:

wow, an over-admit cycle.

i imagine next cycle will have a lower admissions rate, especially if '13 is overbooked and the number of applications continues to rise or at least remain constant. or is c/o '14 scheduled to be even larger?

haha i may start suggesting my friends and fam apply ED then.

also, i’m interested in helping out with student admissions this year, but i don’t know how much of a time commitment it would be. can you give an estimate, please?

haha - no worries- im sure you have measures to keep bias out of admissions decisions (im just interested in how decisions on candidates are made and correcting some of the misconceptions prospective students may have and i guess learning the ropes and helping out in general).
