Hi,
so far I've applied to very competitive summer programs/internships.
I think it's very likely (unfortunately) that I won't get into any,
and I would like to have some backup plans!! Actually, not backup-- because I still want to
go to an excellent program. Can you think of enriching, fun, not too loose, and not too costly (no cost would be so nice...) summer programs that have late deadlines (after march or april)??

To narrow it down
I like science, especially biology- either summer program or internship would be nice
I live in MA - I don't want to go outside New England or the East coast unless traveling is covered.
I am a junior right now.
I don't want to pay too much....like everyone
I would like to have fun, but not too much free time- feels like wasting money

Well, you can see I want A LOT....If you could find any that's good enough, I'd really appreciate it.

With this economy it will very difficult to find paid and unpaid internships this summer.
D. has applied to many banks and firms in the financial market and still not a single answer, though it is still early. Our expectations are low at this moment but hopefully something will come around. She is also looking for internships abroad.

I agree that with the economy everyone's gonna want to go free. Which summer programs did you apply to? If you haven't applied to Harvard's Secondary School that is a good fallback option but it is pretty pricey.

For my backup, I'm applying to a program I did last year called Breakthrough Collaborative. I'm basically guaranteed in, and I'll be getting paid a lot of money if I don't get into my other programs.
