sunburnedasian+picturedaysoon=HELP?

this weekend, i went to the beach and i got sunburned (didn't know this was possibly for an asian) and right now my skin is peeling off and i have red splotches over my face and shoulders. a little while ago my mom gave me mail that i received earlier this week, which included a handout that reminded me that i was going to be taking my yearbook picture. THIS TUESDAY. WHEN I'M PROBABLY STILL GOING TO BE SUNBURNED.

HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS SUNBURN??? i'm actually buying a yearbook my senior year and i don't want to be splotched in my picture (or pay the $18 "acne-photoshop-removal" fee). i tried putting on a toothpaste mask (BAD IDEA-it burnnsss) and using my neutrogenawave. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET RID OF IT??????

worst case scenerio: what makeup should i use to cover up my skin????

I was at the beach this weekend too. But I’m black, so I just got surprisingly tan instead of burnt.
I’ve of course never dealt with this, but I would recommend staying very well moisturized. Go to Sephora or some other nice boutique and invest in a good concealer and foundation. At Sephora at least, they’re very helpful and have a lot of different shades. Good luck!

They always have a retake day.

If you do go the makeup route, be careful, as many types will irritate the burn and your condition will worsen. Pick something hypoallergenic/with the additional sensitivity in mind. I have no clue what kind, but possibly a skin colored powder of some sort?

But to my knowledge there’s no fast and easy sunburn solution (it is, after all, a burn – it needs to heal by itself). Keep it well moisturized like the poster above me mentioned. Use aloe or hydrocortisone or something. Oh, and keep it cool, and don’t pick at it!

Haha, and why would asians be immune to sunburns?

Sounds like the acne thing would be your easiest bet, though. Perhaps it’ll improve by tuesday and you won’t mind it showing up a little damaged?

retake day is in septemberrr. i know this is stupid, but i’m getting my wisdom teeth removed like two weeks beforehand and i’m afraid my smile will look weird? :/

wow, i’ve no idea what hydrocortisone is, but thanks guys! goes to google it

I’m assuming you can not delay the picture–right? I’ve never really had a skin pigment problem, but I do know how to deal with dry and peeling skin: wash your face with cetaphil cleanser

[Cetaphil.com - Products - Gentle Skin Cleanser](http://www.cetaphil.com/Products/GentleSkinCleanser.aspx)

It should quicken the process of removing the dead skin. Keep washing your face and keeping it moist with lotion (I would go with cetaphil again–odorless) until the day of your pictures. Hopefully your skin will be back to normal, however i’m not sure about the red blotches. If it doesn’t fix the blotch problem consult a friend about makeup…

EDIT: Use cetaphil cream, it works better than cetaphil lotion.

Once the burnt layer peels there shouldn’t be any red blotches.

CLOTHES!!! wear something DARKER than your skin tone, so your skin seems lighter. avoid wearing white at all costs.

If worse comes to worst, go to a high-end salon the day of and ask them to do your makeup for you. It might actually cost more than the $18 acne removal fee but … you’ll look gorgeous!

Hahahaha! The “$18 ‘acne-photoshop-removal’ fee” made my day.

Well dont hide your sunburn with makeup, it might make it look even worse. Just pay extra for the photoshop thing that they use.

Go to a spa for a bit?
