I was just wondering…
April 1 is a Sunday, which means that decisions are not going to actually received or mailed on that day…I was just curious if anyone knew if there was a chance that one might find out on say March 30 or 31, or if it is more likely going to be april 2,3,4-ish
Thanks!

they notify by snail mail so you will have to wait until the envelop arrives anyway.

really?? like how long?? im worried coz i live in asia and the mail systems pretty weird...is there any other way of finding out??

overseas admissions arrive by overnight delivery service--not snail-mail. At least, acceptances arrive that way!

Actually, you'll probably find out before the end of March. B'Deis always tries to send decisions out prior to St. Patrick's Day, though they lost a bit of staff this year (again), so I have to assume the decisions will be delayed into next week.

And yes, overseas acceptances arrive by courier (not overnight, but generally less than a week). Other decisions are sent through regular mail.

Spike,
How did you find out when decisions are sent out?

Even if it isn't by St. Patrick's day, that would be earlier than I expected, so that would be great!

I worked in the undergraduate admissions office for four years (I quit this past September), but I still talk to some of the people there. I'm also a Brandeis alum, class of 01.

^ Thanks very much for the information, Spike. :)

Last year, people started to get stuff on the 19th.

Word is that decisions were mailed yesterday.

So what does a former admissions officer do after "retiring" from the admissions game?

Just wonderin to all who applied to Brandeis. I applied and sent all required materials well over a month ago (RD). Does Brandeis have application tracking, because I never heard back from them as to whether they received everything (which I'm pretty sure they did). Maybe no news is good news in that respect?
Thanx

Just_browsing: how did u learn that the decisions were mailed yesterday..

has anyone received anythin from brandeis

I now work for the international student center at a school clear across the country. Now my job consists of helping international students get the proper paperwork to get into the country, and doing federally mandated reporting to the Department of Homeland Security.

As far as I know, decisions haven't gone out yet, but it sounds like they're in the final stages. Knowing the staff, they'll work this weekend and get things out early next week. I'd be damn shocked if decisions went out in more than 3-4 days from now.

hey spike, what do u think is Brandeis' policy regarding recruiting international students...

They love international students, but the acceptance rate is much lower than it is for domestic students. Most international applicants have high need, and Brandeis just can't give scholarships to every student. They are, however, making improvements... international students are being considered for more merit money than before, and they started awarding more of the Wien scholarships.

i'm rlly worried abt my chances.. i'm asking for a lot of aid, and i'm gettin a feeling that it's goin to seriously hamper my chances...
& to make matters worse, my SAT scores aren't rlly that high

It's hard waiting, but that's really just part of the game.

If you haven't heard anything by the end of the first week in April, call or email the office. Let them know that you're an international student, and see if they'll give you your decision that way. Normally they will, and they always have in the past. Whether or not they will now is another question.

A Brandeis 2010er told me.

I'm betting Spike is more right.
