eh.. good or bad?

i think that’s good

I got hedrick summit, SINGLE. i’m a loner -_- Is that good? lol

haha i wouldn’t mind a single =/

i didn’t know sunset village was a plaza :D, i’m much happier

hows De Neve compared to sunset village?

i got Hedrick Hall. triple. good or bad?

I heard De Neve has the nicest dorms.

im placed in sunset triple shared bath too… i hope its going to be awesome

My daughters a freshman and is in a Sunset Village shared bath triple. She is very happy there. She is in Canyon Point. There are 2 other buildings in SV; Courtside and Delta Terrace. They are 3 story buidlings that look more like apts from the outside. Great location, close to Covel dining hall and the Bruincafe for quick food and late night snacks. Her building is pretty social but she can also get studying and napping done in her room…not so easy in a res hall. If you are social and outgoing and like to meet people you will!

are the triple rooms in sunset village bigger than the triples of the residence halls?

canyon point and courtside have the biggest rooms for plazas

All plaza rooms (triple or double) are slightly larger than all res. hall rooms.

My son has also been offered a triple, shared bath in Sunset Village. We’re a little confused about the “shared bath” part. The plaza floorplans only show doubles and triples with private baths (2 or 3 to a bath), and singles or doubles with shared baths (5 singles or 2 double rooms to a bath). Can anyone tell us if a triple, shared bath means that there are 6 (2 triple rooms) sharing a bath? We can’t find a room option like that on the housing site.

My daughter was in a triple in Sunset Village (Canyon Point) her freshman year. She was in a triple with a shared bath. So the two rooms were connected by a bathroom that the 6 girls shared. The bathroom consisted of a large room with 2 sinks, with a separate door to the toilet and a separate door to the shower room. So you could be bushing your teeth while someone is in the shower and another using the toilet and you all would have privacy. Look at the floor plans for Canyon Point and you will see the rooms that are connected by a bathroom. Not all plazas are the same. Some have private baths and some have a bathroom that connects two rooms.

I got Sunset Village Triple!
Buuut, I’m concerned about my financial aid covering the fees of a plaza…

Can anyone with Plan G please elaborate on how the financial aid works with paying for housing? :)

Here is the truth

Rieber Vista & Terrace have the biggest rooms and they are the nicest of all the plazas (they’re most recently built)

Delta Terrace is sunset Village is the worst of all (walls are paper thin, kids antisocial and weird)

Courtside is fun and quiet when u need it to be, and Canyon Point is just too isolated and too quiet

De Neve has hands down the best location on campus and is actually quite social (also has the BEST dining hall)

Hedrick Summit is going to be super isolated from everything…its the furthest up on the hill (requires most walking) and since hedrick hall is closed…you’ll have no neighbors lol…the rooms are quite nice

Rieber Terrace and Vista have the biggest rooms but I wouldn’t consider them to be the most aesthetically pleasing. De Neve rooms have spacious, built-in, sliding door closets and a lowered ceiling in the entrance way with an extra light. I like to use the entrance light as a night light.

Some people would also argue Covel has better food than De Neve. They’re always serving pasta which is a safe bet against the things they’re serving in De Neve. They also have a greater variety of deserts. Also, De Neve really isn’t that much a part of residential life being a long walk away from the nearest cafe. If you enjoy late night snacks then De Neve really isn’t the place to be.
