I was offered a triple in Sunset Village but I am seriously concerned about how anti-social I have heard it is. I love to be social and go out and party but not all the time. But SV just seems too quiet. I requested a change but now I am thinking I should cancel that because there is so much space and the rooms are nicer. Someone who currently lives or has lived there recently, could you please tell me what it's like there? And not just "it can be as social as you want it to be" because I'm talking about the general vibe there. Is it as bad as everyone says it is?
Also, I already sent in a request to change rooms...can this be cancelled?

My guess is that you’re an incoming first year?

Based on my personal experience, someone who is a high school senior and has already identified partying as a priority in college is in for a serious wake-up call. I was that person, and frankly, living in Sunset probably saved my GPA. It is quiet. After weeks on frat row, you’ll probably come to appreciate it.

It is as social as you want it to be to an extent. Most people at UCLA are sociable people. But it isn’t Dykstra or Reiber; you will have to make a more concerted effort to get to know people. The “super involved” cohort is pretty close-knit, but by virtue of being super involved in ORL, they typically aren’t the party all night crew, either.

I lived in four different dorms at UCLA. I’m graduating with a good group of friends. And SV was the best place I lived.

Please see the other Sunset Village thread for more info.

nose2D grind, I did not say partying was a priority. I even said I don’t like to do it all the time. I simply meant that from what I have heard, it is not social enough for me. When I went to visit, it was pretty much dead. Thank you for your response though.
