Sunset Village

I got placed in a triple shared bath at sunset village. I really wanted to be placed in a res hall though because it's cheaper and I also wanted to get the res hall experience. I did some googling and it seems that sunset is really secluded and antisocial? I know it's what you make of it but still...
I want to know if there's like any way of maybe switching out?
Oh, and also if you have ever lived in sunset I would like to know what you liked most about it and what you disliked.
Ok, one last question I promise lol, is sunset really that old??

Overall Sunset Village is quieter than a residence hall in general. You can submit a Change of Assignment Request (CAR) [My Housing (1001744)](http://map.ais.ucla.edu/portal/site/UCLA/menuitem.789d0eb6c76e7ef0d66b02ddf848344a/?vgnextoid=0670064a9a7d1010VgnVCM1000008f8443a4RCRD) and see what happens.

You can also wait for Open Transfer Night, where anyone who wants to switch rooms may do so with another person early each quarter, around the second week of school.

Sunset village does look kinda old, but it’s not breaking apart. I wouldn’t call it old, but it can use a renovation–in fact, some parts of Courtside have received renovations very recently.

Hi, this is exactly how I was feeling when i found out i got placed here last year. So Sunset village consists of Canyon Point, Delta Terrace, and Courtside. The three buildings are pretty different so i can’t say. I am currently living in Canyon point, which i heard is being closed next year. Overall, i enjoyed my experience here. I got really lucky and ended up meeting a lot of pretty social people that made my experience here amazing. However, not everyone is as lucky. One thing i loved about canyon is that we had a lot of space and my friends who visited me were always amazed by our huge bathrooms. However, it is pretty quiet, i won’t say antisocial. However, if you want to ensure that you will meet lots of people, i’d say submit a CAR and hope fot the best to be switched out. It’s really what you make it and i made sure to put myself out there and it worked. Sometimes i do wish i lived in a res hall though, just to have met more people.
