SUNY Albany to SUNY Binghamton?

SAT Score: 1900/2400
High School GPA: 84/85
Midterm Grade Report: A, A, A, B+/A-, B+ (out of five classes)

I'm currently attending SUNY Albany as a Freshman, and my parents would like me to transfer to Binghamton. I'm one of the 70 something freshmen directly accepted to their business school and I'm doing fairly well in all my classes. How are the chances of me being accepted? Is it generally worth transferring if I'm content with my place at SUNY Albany?

Oh, I forgot to mention. I'm trying to transfer to Binghamton's Business school.

Binghamton's School of Management is definitely hard to transfer into but I think you have a great shot! Write a good essay and express that you are transferring for a good reason such as better quality education or top notch academics, do not put down Albany simply state that it doesn't fit your interests. Good luck you'll get in if you do your application well!

Hey. I don't know much about the difficulty of the business school admissions vs. regular admissions, but I think that you have a great shot. The SUNY schools usually accept good students from each other.

Having said that, I don't think that you should transfer unless YOU want to. Again, I don't know much about the business school, but I've had friends who were science majors (I'm friends with a lot of future doctors haha) and they weren't that happy. It depends on fit though. The people I know and knew who were unhappy there were also forced by their parents, since Bing is considered the "best" SUNY (I think that Geneseo is better, but whatever :)).

Good luck!!

PS: I don't know if you are sticking with the SUNY schools because of financial reasons, or some other reason, but I think that you could also try for NYU and some more difficult schools. Stick some reaches or matches in there (Bing is probably a safety-match since you are in Albany already)! Your grades are great, so you should give it a shot.

Those are very solid stats. I think you'll get into SOM.
