Is there a huge difference in these two programs in terms of networking opportunities? I’m looking forward to transferring to one of these school from TCNJ’s accounting program.

why in the world would you transfer from TCNJ accounting to either of those? TCNJ is ranked top 20 accounting programs in the nation (that’s including all privates) just doesn’t make sense. Unless youre a ny resident and looking for instate tuition. Fact top firms recruit every year from TCNJ , especially accounting. having said that I would stick with Bing over Albany its by far the stronger of those two and neither is better than TCNJ accounting program. Do you know how highly ranked TCNJ business school is ranked overall in the nation? like#34 out of all schools in the nation via Bloomberg.
I’m planning on transferring because I’m a NYS resident and would rather pay instate tuition.
My friend is an accounting major at Albany, and she loves the school and the program there. As far as networking, I’m sure there’s an advantage to going to school in the state’s capital.
Binghamton has a very solid program.
Does anyone know how heavily the big four recruit from both schools?
I can assure you Bing is much more highly regarded than Albany.
My husband teaches at UAlbany, and lots of firms recruit there. Can’t specifically comment on the big 4 because, he says, he teaches “economics, not business, so doesn’t keep track of real world skills.” Most of his students get some sort of internship or on-the-job training before graduating. Lots more opportunities in that sense than at Binghamton. That said, Binghamton is more highly regarded and the overall student body (vs. business/accounting) is more academically serious. The school doesn’t seem to make much difference in long term job prospects, but the atmosphere at the two schools is different, so it depends on what you prefer for your year experience.
