SUNY at Binghamton Class of 2025 Decisions

@jlsd2387 that’s not fair .

It is not necessarily the highest hear first. As I said earlier, my brother applied 2 years ago. He did not hear in the first bunch that came out. He had as high stats as are possible from a top school with top extra curriculars. Everyone should breathe a bit. I think more news coming soon.

Also, re merit aid:

Binghamton is notoriously stingy with merit aid. They try to reserve most of their available aid to those with financial need (This was explicitly told to my brother from the admission’s office when he inquired). They know this means they will lose some top applicants to other schools that offer more generous merit aid.

They didn’t offer my brother a dime. He went elsewhere.

I don’t have my brother’s stats though! I can’t wait to hear!

Good luck everyone!

@Quill234 Still waiting for a response here. All EA will know their decision by 1/15 so it won’t be much longer.

I think it will tonight or tomorrow

We didn’t hear either… anyone know how many students usually get accepted for Decker?

Bing is cheaper than other competitive schools even without merit awards, especially if you’re instate

Not all schools do merit $$ with acceptance, Albany’s was about 2 weeks later.

Absolutely. He was in-state. He ended up at a top private.

That being said, there are schools ranked higher than Bing that give amazing merit aid to top students e.g. Florida–full ride in state to NM Finalist (out of state get full ride except pay difference between in state and out of state tuition), USC–half tuition to NM Finalist. And these are just automatic scholarships based on NM Finalist. There is a ton of merit aid from great schools out there. (Vandy and Tulane come to mind)

No expecting any merit money - just wondering when they give you the information on total price, etc…

The freshman class is usually 50 students then more is added (transfers) to make it a final graduating class for that year of 90-100

Last year EA decisions came out in waves. My D didn’t hear in the first wave, but was accepted to Harpur in the next batch. Hang in there!

“All admitted students who have a FAFSA on file (and sent to Binghamton University) will receive a financial aid award notification via email from Financial Aid Services in November for spring admission and late January for fall admission.”
