@Mcjc626 Sure! I have a 1430 SAT and 3.85 W gpa, 3.7 UW
@nordic213 so strange you wouldn’t get right into SOM unless they were looking to see that you took certain classes?
@nordic213 you have the same stats as my DD who also did not get into SOM, but was offered Harpur. How did you hear that you can get a guaranteed transfer into SOM from Harpur? I thought that was very difficult to do. What kind of GPA do you need and what classes do you need to take? Thx.
@sunsheine On my letter they sent me they said congratulations for getting into Harpur, and then under that they said you have been offered a guaranteed option to transfer to SOM in the fall of 2019 as long as you maintain a 3.5 gpa, earn 24 Bing Uni credits, complete the three pre-requisite courses of macroeconomics, microeconomics and statistics and complete the transfer letter by March. I was wondering if maybe there was no more places for me since I applied at the last possible moment of Nov 1st 2017 and I think they look at applications in the order they were sent… Or it could be like Mcjc626 said I haven’t taken a required HS course (never took microeconomics )
@sunsheine Also I did not say to Bing that I would want to be considered for Harpur instead(it just suddenly said on the website that I was being considered there), was your DD asked?
Can someone chance me as a transfer student for fall 2018
HS GPA: 76%/2.1 (Pretty bad I know, I didnt try as hard as I should of and talked about that in my essay)
First Semester GPA at City Tech: 4.0 UW (Applied myself and it paid off)
SAT superscore: 1290
ECS: Helping The Homeless club in HS, Chamber (honors) choir in HS, Have had several jobs both professional and menial that i wrote about in my essay.
I sent and my SAT scores already and requested my hs send my transcri[pt.
Im applying for art history major which is part of Harpur.
Instate, Specialized High school, Latino.
@nordic213 I don’t think it has to do with classes you took or didn’t take in High school. I got into SOM and didn’t take micro, macroeconomics, or stats. I think they believe you’re a good fit but want to be sure that you’re definitely a good fit for SOM before they approve your transfer.
Did you receive an invite to the PWC Scholars program for BING?
I applied RD late december when should I hear back??
Before April 1 @mikescarn
If I did not receive a scholarship in my early action acceptance email, can I expect one to come in the future? I’m in state by the way. I know many of my friends accepted at stony brook were offered the presidential scholarship so I’m assuming binghamton would have the same.
Yes @nhsstudent123, scholarship news comes few weeks after acceptance email.
does anyone know when EA deferrals are going to hear back ?
EA deferrals hear back as part of the RD pool @lcprend. Before April 1.
@WilliamNYC I was accepted on November 30 and have not received any emails about scholarships. Is it too late to receive a scholarship?
Has anyone in state received PWC invites yet?
Sent you a PM
How many weeks does it usually take to hear back RD?
Got into Harpur RD today. First acceptance ever! Was totally prepared for a rejection.
I probably didn’t deserve to get in with my stats but here they are:
OOS 3.13 GPA, 1320 SAT(superscore 1330)
I’m gonna hug my econ teacher first thing in the morning tomorrow. Also, does anyone know when scholarship letters go out?
Congratulations @zkt777 first admission is always special and you DESERVE to be at Harpur!!
