suny binghamton or michigan??

im in state for binghamton (therefore oos michigan) and am having difficulty deciding on which one to attend. I was admitted into SOM and want to study business and I wasn't admitted into ross. Which will be the right choice in terms of academics, having a good time partying, and coming out into the working world with a solid job. Ill prob study accounting, financial engineering or finance. Is michigan really worth an extra 32k a year if i dont get into ross and i need to get an mba anyway??

I am from NY as well, I can tell you that SOM cannot be compared with Ross; they’re not in the same caliber. Unfortunately I wasn’t pre-admitted to Ross as well, but we can always apply as a regular applicant.

55k a year median starting salary vs. 59k for Ross.
Not worth an extra $128k (32k/year) at all unless you really love Michigan + your family can comfortably afford it.

please help i need to make a decision by may 1st

Recharge, the starting salary will depend most on the region of employment. There are usually higher starting salaries in NY than in Michigan because NY has a higher cost of living.

Flipper, I think you are forgetting to realize that most Ross graduates don’t go on to start working in Michigan lol

No, I am saying that Binghamton graduates will have higher salaries than normal because NY has a higher cost of living. Michigan graduates are spread across the country, so the average starting salary will not be as high as one might expect because most states have lower starting salaries than NY due to cost of living.

as a NY resident, if I had to do it all over again, I’d still go blue. SOM has NOTHING on Ross (in fact, very few places do). Bing has nothing on Michigan in general.
I really really think Binghamton is a wonderful school, and an amazing instate option. But, why deny yourself the chance to be a wolverine?
