SUNY Binghamton transfer chances?

I'm planning to apply to the spring semester at SUNY Binghamton from a out of state (new jersey)CC.
In high school, I was the party guy who did ****. My gpa was like a 1.7 and a 1500 SAT. I decided to turn away from that crap at a community college and I now have a 3.72 gpa with 27 credits. I'm taking 13 more in the fall semester. I'm planning to apply to Binghamton early sept for the spring semester. Will there be an essay required?. I plan to be an economics major.
Do you think I have a shot? I applied to Montclair state/SUNY Albany/SUNY Buffalo and got in.

What should I do to bump my chances? I know about getting in binghamton with an a.a is much easier but I want out of my home ASAP and want to experience real college life sooner!

Thank you!

I think you have an average shot. Lots of my friends with 3.8s were rejected, but some with 3.5s got in, so it really depends on your character and what reflects it.

I applied as a transfer for fall 2009 and got rejected. I had a 3.69 GPA with 54 credits completed. I applied again for Spring 2010. Hope it works out this time.

The problem with figuring out chances for transfer students is that the admissions office only accepts the amount of students they have spots for. It varies each year. You can find information regarding the transfer application here: [Binghamton University - Undergraduate Admissions - Transfer Students Information](http://www2.binghamton.edu/admissions/students/transfer-students.html)

I just realized that I can and should fill out the supplemental application form. since binghamton transfer deadlines are suggested is there still a way that my supplement can be considered before a decision is made?

You would have to call the admissions office and let them know you want them to wait for the supplemental application. Otherwise, if it isn’t necessary they might think the application is complete and they will most likely begin looking it over.
