I’m having a hard time deciding between these two. I don’t know much about Binghamton, except that it is the more “respectable” SUNY and has a better reputation. I did visit Buffalo and enjoyed it, although some of the classes I sat in on were very boring (could be remedied by being in Honors College, I get first pick of selecting classes). I’m intending to major in Communications, possibly with a double major in Business. I am not sure if I will attend graduate school.
If anyone could offer opinions on the schools, or just general advice about making my decision, I’d greatly appreciate it!
@collegiate21 I’d go with Buffalo Honors for the following reasons. Buffalo has a well regarded Communications and media department. Binghamton has no Communications or media department. You would have to major in English and take dome rhetotic courses. Also it will be easier to double major in Business at Buffalo. Binghamton’s School of Management is difficult to transfer into and it may not be easy to double major. Finally, although the typical Binghamton student has better academic credentials, your being in Honors at Buffalo you will be surrounded by top students. I heard that Buffalo Honors is an excellent program.
