Suny Buffalo Pharmacy

Hey, does anyone know about SUNY Buffalo's pharmacy program. Is it a 6 year pharmD program where you need to maintain a minimum GPA to stay in?Or is it a 8 year program program with guaranteed admisson to the second 4 years if a minimum GPA is maintained? Or is it a school where students take 4 years of undergrad and then need to apply for 4 years of pharmacy school?

Any help would be appreacited.
Thanks,

D

its 6 yr i think, but you need to take and pass the PCAT. (which some schools dont require) so you could potentially waste 2 years of prepharm.

If you pass the PSAT are you automatically in the other 4 years?

there is no passing, its like the SAT where you just get a grade, and there is really no failure. im not 100% on this but im almost positive its just like SAT.

I made a typo not I ment PCAT not "PSAT"

well PCAT is the same i think, ^_^;; there is no passing but its like the SAT where there are higher and lower grades

so is Buffalo like 2 years of pre-pharm followed by 4 years of pharmacy which you only get into IF you do well on the PCAT

Avoid it!

My dad's a pharmacist. He knows someone who went into the program a few years ago, did the first two years and then they wouldn't let him in to the professional program.

Look at Albany College of Pharmacy, you're accepted directly into the 6 year program and don't have to worry about applying after 2 years.

I'm not sure, but does UCONN have a 6 year program you can apply to as a freshman? I know they have pharmacy, but I'm not sure if they program is like Buffalo's.

Uconn does not have a 6 year program.
