I'm applying to State University of New York-Binghamton & Buffalo,I wanna study finance,so which is a better choice?? I know in general Binghamton is much better.
I am an international student so SUNY colleges's tuition is really reasonable for me~

Binghampton and Buffalo offer BS Business Admin/Management with a concentration in Finance. They both do not offer BS in Finance. Have you considered Albany? What do you plan on doing with your BS in Bus Admin or Mgt?

Albany is closer to NYC. Buffalo's MBA program has a good rep. It depends on what your criteria is in evaluating this situation.

i remembered Albany does not offer BS in Finance, either~In addition,i think Albany is really much worse than Binghamton and Bufflo in the general rankings. How do you think of it??

My criteria for colleges is they can offer me good education, good reputation and a good job after i graduate with a comparatively competive salary~~

What does "in Bus Admin or Mgt" mean??

Binghampton offers BS Managment with concentration in Finance
Buffalo and Albany offers BS Business Administration concentration in Finance.
Neither is a BS in Finance. This may be significant if you intend to work in Finance and the company/job requires a BS in Finance.

I agree that Buffalo and Binghampton are higher in rankings. Albany may not even be on any ranking list. That said, Albany is closer to NYC than Buffalo or Bing. Being close to NYC may be important if you want to work in NYC. If access to NYC is not a consideration then I would say Buffalo then Bing for business.

Albany offers the advantage that it is the state capitol of New York State and that unique position offers students access to opportunites in NYS government.

Good Education: I believe all three will teach you about Finance.
Reputation: Buffalo>Bing>Albany
Good Job: Depends? What kind of job are in targeting and where do you want to work?

well,as an international student, i really don't have idea about working places in USA.i don't like albany because of the ranking and the reputation.Considering Buffalo and Binghamton,i think Binghamton has better position and ranking in general than Buffalo. But these two colleges offer different kind of BS in finance.God i am confused!
P.S. I wanna work in investing banks or perhaps Wall Street after graduate.

IB or Wall Street...

have you considered Baruch College in NYC. They offer s BBA in Finance and Investments.

However, Baruch does not offer housing. You will have to find a place to stay on your own.

Baruch sends about 17 people to ibanks/year

I am an school management student from SUNY Buffalo and i am also an international student :) I would say if your career goal is strictly finance, then i dont suggest you come here since a lot of the finance classes are actually taught by TAs. However, if you want to study Accounting, i recommend SUNY Buffalo 100%, it will give you the best return on your investment (cheap tuition)....according to the latest Business week's undergruadate business program rankings, the school of management in SUNY Buffalo ranked 59th nationwide...

in response to crillen: UB does have a very good Accounting program.

Univ of Rochester has a good MBA program. I don’t know about the UG program, but I would think it would be good if the grad program is good. I worked for a major asset manager that always recruited MBAs from Rochester.
