SUNY Buffalo vs. NYU Poly for Computer Science?

I got accepted into both, which is great, but I need some help before making a decision.

Which is better for majoring in computer science, especially now after the merger between NYU and Poly? And is the cost worth going especially in NYU Poly's (around 30-40k with all costs) case, while Buffalo costs around half that?

And hows the social life at the colleges? I know Poly is mainly a commuter school, so it won't be a 'traditional college campus'. But does that affect the social life of the school a lot?

Any advice or experiences would be really helpful. Thanks.

It is more of a commuter like school and it’s located in Brooklyn which is not the same as being in Manhattan with the rest of NYU. How NYU is integrating that campus with the Manhattan spread, I do not know. It’s a whole other story than SUNY Buffalo which, though is an excellent school is not as focused on things like CS as Poly is. I can vouch for their math dept and tell you that UB is very much an underrated school, but to compare Buffalo to NYC locale, I really can’t say. Don’t really know.

Personally, in terms of traditional college life, I’d take UB in an instant. It’s by far a better rounded school. But it’s also got a heavy dose of suitcase kids who go home weekends and who commute. It’s not like a Penn State-- but far closer to it than Poly.
