Hi everyone. I plan on majoring in art and I'm curious between the two of them, which one has a better art program? Thanks.

Have you looked at UB’s website? If not, UB offers both a BFA in Visual Studies and a BA, which includes more liberal arts and also have a minor in VS. This would allow you to double major, which could be an advantage if you’re planning to teach or want to specialize in a high-tech art form or just want a dual career option that can pay the bills! Not sure what the term “better” refers to as neither of these school are known for art unlike some of the other SUNYs or other NY schools like Pratt. That’s not to say their programs aren’t good, it’s just such a subjective term! What criteria are you looking for?

agree with sk8rmom. I have heard very good things about art at UB but there are other strong programs across SUNY. Depending on your emphasis, make sure you check out Purchase, New Paltz and UAlbany in particular.
