I am an International student, accepted from SUNY Buffalo and Viterbi School USC for MS in Aerosapace. Inspite of the better ranking of USC, I have some doubts in my mind. Please help me with the following queries…

USC is pretty much more expensive than SUNY Buffalo. Is it worth spending extra money on USC?

What is the scope of On-campus employment at both the schools?

USC has a long list of companies coming to their campus for recruitment
[USC Career Planning and Placement Center](http://careers.usc.edu/students/ocr/recruiters.html)
On the other hand I could not find any such list on the SUNY Buffalo site. Do we have sufficient recruitment opportunities at Buffalo?

please help…

Southern CAL vs. Buffalo, NY??? Go for the CAL weather and lifestyle!!!

Thanks Neonzeus
Apart frm weather, do we have sufficient jobs available on-campus in USC? and do u have any idea bout SUNY?

We just returned from Suny Buffalo’s orientation. My dd will be an entering freshman and we were really impressed with the school. (She was also accepted at Hopkins and UCSD) We’re from San Diego area so the severe weather is a concern.
When we were driving around Buffalo, there were lots of help wanted signs. The people were extremely helpful and friendly. The drive from the airport to buffalo was 10 minutes. USC is a good school. My sis went there, but traffic was unbearable for her and it’s at a very fast pace. Employment opportunities at USC after you graduate will be phenomenal, however, the cost of living here in CA is very, very expensive. You will spend a lot of time in your car on the freeways and the cost of gas is ridiculous. Consider that the average cost here in San Diego of a home is $500K-$600K and that’s for a 1900 sf home. I hope that helps in your decision. SUNY Buffalo does have on campus jobs-check with career services.

To answer your last two questions, there are many departments both academic and support oriented, that hire students at UB, including campus dining, computing & information technology, engineering, and so on.

UB Career Services has a website to help graduates find information on recruiters. [Career Services - Student Affairs, University at Buffalo](http://www.ub-careers.buffalo.edu/index.php) To use most of the features on the site you need to be a registered student with a UB person number.

However, the MAE department includes on their website a short list of companies their graduates end up being employed by. [University at Buffalo: Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering](<a href=“Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering - University at Buffalo”>Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering - University at Buffalo)

If you decide to matriculate UB you will receive e-mails about different employers coming to campus to interview students for engineering positions throughout the academic year complete with instructions on how to send in your resume for the interview.
