SUNY Geneseo...

Well, after a long struggle, I've finally figured out the school I'm going to be transfering to as a junior after CC this coming year. I'm a psych/eng major btw.

I've attended Hofstra this year and have a 3.89 (depends on finals, but I think I'll do well). For financial reasons I'm going back home to CC for a year and then transfering. So, if I keep my GPA up high during a year at CC, how are my chances at Geneseo??

I was in a musical during my fall semester (didn't do any ECs this semester) and am hoping to join some type of newspaper/magazine club while at CC. Other than that I don't do much though, lol. So, that definetly isn't great, but I don't find it fun filling my time with crazy amounts of stuff, only if I enjoy it. I would rather do some fun stuff here and there, and have time to spend for myself (weight train, relax, hang out w/ friends, etc).

Anyway, regardless of that, hopefully my GPA will help me get into Geneseo, but I don't know. That's why I'm asking you guys!! What do ya think??

Btw, my high school average is 87 unweighted (probably 3.4ish unweighted??) and my SATs were 1180 (sucks, I know, I did way worse on the SAT than my PSAT lol, but not studying nor caring does that... ). However, it supposively doesn't matter after 2 years of college anyway, so that's good.

Well, opinions and help wanted. Thanks.

Geneseo is a notch above Hofstra. You mighy have trouble transfering if you don't keep your GPA as good as it is now.

I realize that, and I plan on keeping my GPA up above at least 3.8. I can hopefully manage to keep it above 3.9 even, although we'll see if I can manage a 4.0 at CC, no idea.

Anyway, I'm curious if they would let me have 60+ credits transfer in or not. They say on the website that you can have up to 90 credits from a 4-year school, but only 60 from 2-year school. Well, what about being from both? lol... I think I'd have to call them up about that I guess. Either way, I'd still be above 60, and if they decide to cut out some classes, it's not the end of the world. Although it'd be nice to have over 60 count (if I get in).

Does the lack of replies signify an "I don't know"??

^I guess it might... that or just a disinterest in replying and helping me out.

Most of the people on this board don't know small state schools that well. I live in upstate NY so I've heard of Geneseo. However most of the people here only really know the admissions practices at the top 50 schools that well.

Thank you, that's what I was assuming.

I'm hoping my chances are good. The average high school GPA there I think is 3.6 or so and the SAT/ACT scores are great as well. I just have to try my hardest come this year. I don't know if it's really unlikely, but maybe I can manage a 4.0 at the CC I'm going to.

If I do that and join a magazine/newspaper club, hopefully it'll give me a good shot.

I guess I'll find out for myself.
