I just got accepted to SUNY Geneseo but the only reason I got accepted was for basketball
I only had a 3.3 GPA and a 1260/1600 on the SAT.

How well looked upon is SUNY Geneseo?

What about for medical school?

It’s the most well respected SUNY school. I’m not sure about medical school but I would think private > public for that.

Any school, private or public, are fine if you are thinking of going to medical school. You can major in any science, psychology, or anything else you are interested in. Just be sure to take all the pre-reqs you need for medical school.

The MCAT, medical school admission test, is important to do well on.

It doesn’t have the “name” like Buffalo, Stony Brook, or Binghamton, but it is a good school just not known outside of NY.

Just wondering, how is Geneseo pronounced? lol

Jae-nae-sae-o, but the "ea"s are cut off short, so you dont get the ‘jay nay’ sound, but you know what i mean?

JEN A SEE O
It is known as the honors college of the SUNY system and probably the most selective.
It will be great for Pre Med and graduate studies. Beautiful campus but a little remote. It will feel like a small private liberal arts school
Good luck
