SUNY instate rules

I have been a nys resident since I was born 16 years ago. For my junior and senior year I may be moving to new jersey. Would I still qualify for in state tuition at SUNY and CUNY colleges. I have been a nys high school Up to sophomore year.

Have you read the residency requirements for any of the SUNY campuses? I think to get state rates one of your parents has to live here. If your family lives in NJ you’re not a NYS resident.

Unless you have a parent living in NY state, in general, no. Here are specific rules: https://www.suny.edu/sunypp/documents.cfm?doc_id=402

No. Unless one of your parents lives in NY state OR you graduate from a high school in New York State. (Some students who live in NJ go to HS in NY.)
